The 2014 and 2015 season over and saw no racing action from the Chevy Coupe. With the coupe being out of action from the end of the 2013/14 season with the crash at Masterton. Work has been slow and steady to get her back on the track. Watch this space to see how she's progressing.

At the end of 2013 / 2014 season racing the 2nd to last meeting at Masterton the car took a beating. With Phil losing control at the start and rolled onto the side of the track. Totally wrecking the fiberglass body. We took all the pieces home hoping to salvage something. If was clear a new body was needed. So a call was made and a body is due in from the states at the end of the month.
The 20103 / 2014 drag season has started and we have been to a number of races. Starting with:

Look out we are ready and rearing to go. We'll be racing at all locations this season.
News from the Action Tyre Drag Racing Team

After a bit of a slow start to the NZDRA season and a hairy ride at the Southern Nationals held at Motueka. Phils 1938 Chevy Coupe is currently 3rd on the National points series. Masteron had a very strong field of 24 cars entered. It was Don Smyth (from Action Tyres) in the mini that took out the event. Only the North Island Nationals left to be held in Taupo 26-27th April. Some fine tuning is needed to keep us up in the top three. If you're able to spare Sat 27th April to attend the Nationals we welcome your support.

Competition Two saw closer racing, with free rides in the first round and only one red light in round two. By round three Phil Webber cut a terrible light in his gorgeous ’38 Chev coupe. However, crowd-pleasing Ricky Easton cut an even worse one and followed Phil through the lights. Nigel Dickson’s ever consistent 9.9 street car singled to meet Webber in the money run. The orange ’55 Chev ran a 10.0 on its 9.9 dial-in, enough to force Webber into a breakout 9.78 on his 9.8 dial-in.
